Changes to Annual Dues & Registration Process

Beginning in 2023, BSA made changes to its registration and annual unit recharter process. The changes will begin to affect the youth and adult members over the next few months.

KEY CHANGES – National & Council Direct Pay

  • Individuals will pay the National/Council BSA fee and Troop 55 dues separately (Previously these were a combined payment to the Troop).
  • Individuals who joined scouting on or after August 1, 2023 will receive renewal notices to pay from BSA prior to their anniversary of joining.
  • Individuals who joined scouting prior to August 1, 2023 will receive renewal notices to pay from BSA prior to December 31st each year
  • Memberships not renewed within 30 days of expiration date will be removed from the troop rosters.

UNCHANGED – Annual Troop Dues

  • The troop will still be requiring the payment of annual dues buy October 1st (expect the see emails requesting payment starting mid-September).
