DESCRIPTION:Rocket Day\nSeptember 10\, 2022  |  3:00 pm – 5:00 pm\nRice University – Intramural Field\nScouts who join Cub Scouts this year will receive a rocket that they can design\, build\, and launch at Rocket Day. Remember to bring the rocket you received when you joined (please email registrar@pack55.org if you need to get yours). The district leadership will supply the rocket engine. Scouts already in Scouts can bring their own rocket and engine (see details below). Youth in kindergarten through fifth grade who are interested in joining Scouting may also attend; the membership committee will help you find a pack near you and get signed up for Scouting. New Scouts can attend any Rocket Launch Day event in the council that fits their schedule.\nBring a friend to join Scouting; they can receive a rocket onsite. \nAdults volunteers are needed to help with the event; contact ryan.a.hammer@gmail.com for more information.\nAfter Rocket Day – Scouts and Scouters are welcome and encouraged to join fellow Scouters for Rice Football NASA Space/Scout Day! DESCRIPTION:Welcome back from the Summer\, Pack 55! Join us for our first Pack Meeting of the 2022-23 scouting year at 6:30 PM on this Thursday in the Scout Room downstairs at St. John the Divine. We plan to have members of the Southside Place Fire Department at the event for the scouts to meet and to learn about leadership and service in our community. We are also kicking off our annual Popcorn Fundraiser\, our most important fundraiser of the year. We look forward to seeing you all at the Pack Meeting!\nThe goal of this meeting is to focus on Community Service.  This is a key portion of a badge at each rank.  Below we have identified a few specific parts of badges for each group of scouts that can be incorporated into their advancement.\n• Lion     • King of the jungle #3: explain what it means to be a leader\n            • Animal Kingdom #1: Learn the role of someone who provides a service to your community\n• Tiger   • Safe and Smart #9: Have an emergency responder visit you\n• Wolf    • Council fire #4: Talk to a community service leader.
